1) Please check your version (System -> Rockbox Info -> Version) to be 100% clear what is installed.
2) Please run checkdisk or something similar on your iPod HDD. Maybe the filesystem is corrupted after your hard reset during the DB building.

I think i did chkdsk the last time i was trying to solve this problem, and it found some errors but all of them got repaired.
