Ipod 5g, 30gb Freeze on playback

Joergenfs:
Hey, i have recently encountered a problem, rockbox freezes when i try to play any song.

I have tried reinstalling rockbox, restoring Ipod, then reinstalling, Formatting the ipod then reinstalling rockbox.. With no luck.

Everything in rockbox works fine except when i try to play music.

It freezes, gets a little hot and if im lucky i can manage to reset it the normal way. after holding the buttons for a while.

Do anyone know a sollution for this problem? :)

Possible sollutions are much appreciated!

Some questions:

- Which revision are you running?
- Do play files via file browser or via database?
- Do you default settings or anything special enabled?
- Does the HDD keep spinning all the time?
- What kind of audio format do you use?

Joergenfs:
- Which revision are you running?
3.7.1 from the latest auto-installer.  (Revision means version number right?)

- Do play files via file browser or via database?
- It happens when using both database and browser

- Do you default settings or anything special enabled?
- i use the default settings

- Does the HDD keep spinning all the time?
- Yeah, i think the hdd keeps spinning all the time, causing battery to drain.

- What kind of audio format do you use?
- The audio format i use is "mp3"

Buschel:
Does svn (current headrevision) have the same effect for you?
Is this happending with older releases (e.g. 3.6) as well?

Edit: Can you check whether the mp3 files from http://download.rockbox.org/test_files/ work for you?

Joergenfs:
I tried a fresh install earlier today, after deleting the last installed rockbox as well as deleting all the music on the ipod.

After rockbox was done installing, i put a music album in mp3 format on the ipod,

Rockbox booted up as it should and i selected database in the menu..   This is where something unexpected happened, First time i tried to initialize the it just said Building database... 0 found (PREV to return)

It didnt freeze or anything, just seemed like it had a problem with building the database.

I clicked PREV, Rebooted the ipod and tried again.
When i clicked initialize this time, it quickly found many thousand files during the search and continued counting more, i pressed PREV and rebooted again.

Its as if it was going through the music that used to be on the ipod, i have 15 music tracks on my ipod, it cant possible find several thousand files..
Post Merge: February 12, 2011, 09:08:53 AMIs "svn" the version name? I can only seem to find version 3.7.1.

The test files doesnt work either
