This is exactly how it already works :)

Directories (and drive letters) are stripped from the beginning of the paths in the playlist one at a time until the file is actually found, so "D:\Stuff\Other\Music\Best Song Ever.mp3" in a playlist will find "\Music\Best Song Ever.mp3" on the player.

i created the above playlist in itunes and exported it as a .m3u file (my player's files were itunes library), pasted it in "I:"
please note, my directory structure is like this :

MEMORY CARD:
I:Music
and i placed the playlist directly at I:

why are the playlists still not working?
