IpodSansa and Rockbox are two completely different Operating ( Firmware ) systems , and the porting of existing Features from SansaLinux ( Ex: nes Emulator and GBA emulator ...ect. ) to rockbox is not possible . You would have to code from scratch. Correct? Ja?
I am just wondering because SansaLinux catcht my Eye and its features...

what features are you talking about exactly?

Last I checked it had no Recording, and USB, no microSD, and only a couple of plugins.

EDIT: *derp* didn't read properly, yes, it would require re-writing.
There is the beginnings of a NES emulator on the tracker iirc.

Yes =3 I have seen the NES emulator in the works.
Ah, what I was thinking was , that if there was even the remote chance that some code could possibly be taken/transferred over to rockbox, that this could speed up the process of making the NES emulator, and we could possibly also have a GBA emlator as well . =P

Yes probably, but first there would have to be someone working on a GBA or NES emulator.  Then if they thought it was easier they could probably reuse some code, although I have no idea if it'd be worth it.

Hm. Does anyone know how to setup sansalinux?
I was hoping to try it out ( so I have rockbox and sansalinux ...)
I have them on the player, just a few issues...

I am not sure how to install sansalinux for my sansa e280 !

From the sansalinux site:
Installing SansaLinux
1. Copy the 2 files initrd and linux.bin in the sansa-directory to the root of your Sansa
2. If you want MPD-support(Music Player Daemon), copy the file usrfs in the sansa/usrfs-mpd dir to the root of your sansa,
   if you don't want MPD-support, copy the file usrfs in the sansa/usrfs-nompd dir to the root of your Sansa
3. Run sansapatcher for normal e200's and use the file in "bootloader-Rhapsody" for e200R's

What I have Done:
1. I copy and pasted the FILES initrd.file and linux.bin to the ROOT of my sansa.

2. The usrfs.file FILE is copy and pasted to my sansa's ROOT as well.

3. Ran sansapatcher.exe for normal e200, it said bootloader installed successfully.

When I start up, I get this as last text:

RAMDISK : Loading 2048 blocks [ 1 disks ] into ram disk... done.
freeing initrd memory: 2048K
UFS: Mounted root  (ext 2 filesystem).

Since Sansalinux has absolutely nothing to do with Rockbox, I suggest you look for support somewhere it can be offered.

For what it's worth, one item of support I can offer is that Sansalinux has been abandoned for multiple years now...

Haha (⌒▽⌒) you have a good sense of humor, I like that. ( what you say is true...und thus the reason I came here, because google shows up nothing helpful, its all old information that is Not Working...)
Well, it does slighty have to do with rockbox because they Used rockbox's drivers/ even a modified rockbox bootloader. I say it is tied to rockbox indeed. PLUS this is the one section that has to do with 3rd party applications that have nothing to do with rockbox and are Not suppored at all for it, yes? ( I am off to check that last statement there...)
This forum may be used to post questions about third party utilities that are made to work with Rockbox. While we cannot provide any official support for them, and recommend visiting their homepages to find better information, you may be able to receive feedback from other user experience here.

SansaLinux was made to work ( Co-inside) with rockbox- You Press >> to get to iPod Linux

Hm. I am sorry to have bothered... I doubt there is Support for this anymore/ someone that knew how to install it onto my device.
I am going to leave this for now. Anyone who feels like Helping is welcome to, but I am Not going to ask anymore about this...

If you were to use the source as was available when the product was working (several years ago), it should still work in theory.

It's likely that the drivers and code used have changed too dramatically for the project to continue working without syncing the changes, if it is even possible to do so without re-writing Sansalinux.

Sansalinux has been in a state of abandonment for several years, where the Rockbox source is often updated ~10 times or more on a daily basis.

I'm sure if you googled around or scraped the Sansalinux forums you'd be able to find a known good revision number somewhere in there.

It is true, it should work in theory, aber, I followed instructions on sansa Linux Site , yet was Not working. It Seems the "podzilla Not Found" Error was a Bug that a Few Users got when trying to install SansaLinux . The Bug does Not seem to Be fixed, since My Device Comes up with the podilla Error. THAT, OR I am installing it wrong.

Possibly. I just thought SansaLinux would Be interesting to try out, see what it is like compared to Running rockbox. Just curious.

I feel I may need to clarify, if you were to check out a revision of the Rockbox source from approximately the same era as the Sansalinux firmware you are trying to install and compile the Rockbox binary from it, it should work in theory, as it seems to have done so at an earlier point in time.

There's no way that the Sansalinux code has changed in a long period of time, so I would expect the differences and the reason it does not work currently to lie in changes made to the Rockbox source code.

hm。The current rockbox 3.7.1 would Not suffer from that?
Also, I am using the old SansaLinux bootloader ( Based off of VERY old rockbox bootloader )
It Boots the newest rockbox Fine ( happy for that ) Works like a charm for rockbox.
Pressing >>| to get to SansaLinux Boots it up Fine also, I just get the Error . Your right, it could Be that there is a New rockbox Version out ( maybe I can see what having an old Build does )
BUT , they should Be separate from each other, Other than that they are using the Same bootloader.

I Bet they did Not think of that at the Time- that rockbox would always update, and People with both FW may have Problems. With this in mind, I could Uninstall the latest rockbox , then install SansaLinux 1st to See what Happens ... If it Works , then SansaLinux dös Not like me having the latest rockbox 3.7.1 on my sansa. If Not , it is an Error/ Bug with SansaLinux / human Error Not installier correctly.

Edit: Rockbox is not making it have the error - I am still having the same error even after rockbox uninstalled and such.
