Untagged files/folders on Clip +
« on: February 03, 2011, 07:14:30 AM »
As a new member i apologise if this issue has already been answered .Why do some folders show as untagged when others ripped the same way show the title in full ? That is in the database section of Rockbox. Flac music files in folders. Other than this  issue the Rockbox firmware is astonishing, the sound quality of Flac/Wav files is amazing for such a basic looking Sansa Clip+ player.

Compare the tagging on the Untagged folders and the ones that are being read correctly. I'd guess that the Untagged folders are either untagged or perhaps using an incorrect tagging format (flac with id3 tags rather than vorbis comments for example).

There is no support for CUE in tagcache database AFAIK, if you use FLAC with CUE. It shows <Untagged> for my APE+CUE as well. This is a shortcoming of current cuesheet and tagcache implementation. It would be nice to add data from cue sheet into database by treating APE/FLAC/WV as a yet another folder and, for non-existent files, check existence of a file before the last separator ('/'). It should not be difficult to implement.
