Few questions
« on: February 03, 2011, 06:17:59 AM »
Not sure where this post should be :P But I gave my best shot. As I understand there are no requests so I was just asking how I would go about making my own build for my Philips GoGear Cam (8GB) mp3 player, I've used Rockbox before on my Sansa E260, and I fell in love with the program, and even told a bunch of friends about it. After searching for a while, I didn't find anything for the mp3 player, I noticed there were a few buggy builds for some Philips brand players, but as I understand not the one I have.
     Thx in advance :)
P.S. I know a bit about computers but not sure it will help me understand how this stuff works, cause I see a lot of confusing terms on these forums and stuff that goes a little over my head. Just sayin, hehe

Rockbox only runs on the players listed on the front page.

Are there issues with the technology inside that would prevent any build from being made for it?

The "issue" is that the hardware inside every MP3 player is different. "Making a build" for a new player requires that someone writes drivers for all the hardware, from scratch if the components are not very similar to an already supported player. It's not just a matter of compiling it with different options.
