Cowon X5L bootloader messages on each boot.

(1/1)

TexasRockbox:
Hello,

Installed Rockbox on X5L 20GB using the Rockbox utility and full installation.

The bootloader installed, Rockbox installed -- seems to be working fine.

However, when turning on the X5L I'm first presented with a light blue screen with text concerning the bootloader then proceeds into the Rockbox splash screen.

The test

Bootloader V4
Battery voltage:
Checksum
Model

and so forth, as if was in some sort of debug mode.

Never saw anything like that when booting the iPod video.

Normal behavior?

Maybe incorrectly installed?

Thank you!

Llorean:
Bootloaders used to always display that information. At some point in the past it was decided they wouldn't any more unless something went wrong or the information was otherwise needed. But some players like the H100 and I guess the X5L haven't had their bootloaders re-built since before this change (we don't generally rebuild the bootloaders unless a specific bug is fixed, since they're part of what helps ensure you can reinstall Rockbox if you put a bad build on) so they still show the old behaviour. It should be nothing to worry about.

TexasRockbox:
Thank you!  Just wanted to be sure nothing is wrong.

Llorean:
Generally those messages only indicate something's wrong if it stops at them and Rockbox itself doesn't load. There will usually also be a further message at the bottom of the screen telling why Rockbox failed to load.
