Sansa Clip+ Song Skipping/Deletion

For some reason, Rockbox skips certain songs on my Sansa Clip+

For instance, I will go through the Tracks folder, select a song, and it will just skip to the next one.  If I continue to select that song, it will eventually be removed automatically which means I have to go back to my computer and put the song back on.

However, if I go through a folder such as Artist or Album instead of the Tracks folder, it allows me to play the song with no problem whatsoever.

And also, Rockbox also deletes certain songs for no reason.  One day i'll be playing a song with no issues and a couple days later the song is gone.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I can correct this?  It's really annoying

It sounds like your file system is corrupt.  Try connecting it to your computer and scanning for errors.

What would I use to scan my player?

Chkdsk or the equivalent under your OS.

Yeah I just did it.  Found a few errors but gave me nothing specific.

If it found and fixed the errors on the filesystem then it might have fixed your problem. Does it still happen?

Still happens.

What I did was went through my computer, selected the player, right clicked and selected properties and used the check disk option.  It found and fixed errors.  I'll run it again right now and see what it says.

I also used the chkdsk command as well using the prompt but I don't know if it fixed anything or not

Just scanned again and no errors were found.  The problem still occurs though.

If you use the file browser instead of the database does this still happen?

It works when you use the file browser.

It also works when you use the database as well.  You just have to go through a different folder like Artists or Album.  It won't work using tracks.

Can you (re)initialize the database and see if it still has problems?
