So, LDS176, which is good. The performance optimizations were thoroughly tested on LDS176 type LCDs. This of course does not mean those optimizations could not be the root cause...

Can you please install a v3.7 build and report back how this behaves? v3.7 was released in Oct and is also available for nano 2g. We can narrow it down by a few months then.

Important question: Are you able to build rockbox on your own?

Edit: I have added a bug tracker entry (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11911). We should further use this to proceed.
