Pictureflow: "Album Art is bad"
« on: January 25, 2011, 08:40:44 PM »
I'm using a Fuze v1, and just started to play with the Pictureflow plugin (very cool). However, when it goes to refresh the Albums, I get "Album Art is bad" for several of them. Can someone tell me what it is that may be causing this error?
All are jpegs.
All are called folder.jpg
Is it sizing? Or something with the file itself?
Thanks.

Yapper,

Thanks for the link. Got the viewer, and sure enough, the jpegs were progressive. Replacing now & they work.

Ok, an update to this...

I went through and replaced all my progressive jpgs, but I still get a handful of albums that just refuse to show up (just get question marks or black/white streaks). I'd say 90% of them are fine, but the last 10% is giving me fits.
I have gone back and re-replaced the troublemakers, double-checked that they are simple .jpgs, but I still get the same thing on the same albums. Could it be something in the tags?
It's not a lot of albums, but it is frustrating.  ???

Does the JPG viewer open the cover art for these albums properly?  Does album art appear in the WPS for these albums?

Hello makoti,

If you can open the affected pictures in rockbox and they also appear in the WPS, then delete all files except "emptyslide.pfraw" in the folder "pictureflow". It is in ".rockbox" -> "rocks" -> "demos". Then let pictureflow rebuild the album art when you start it again.
I also recommend you to remove embedded album art. You are using folder.jpg anyway.

Hope you can enjoy pictureflow.

Greetings,

c_k

Thanks for all the help.
It appears that some of it is basic operator error. ::) I forgot to have Pictureflow rebuild the cache. After I did that, almost all of the problems went away. Almost.
I still have a couple of covers that are being seen, I guess, but not scanned properly. They are just black & white streaks. They do show up on the wps screen, but again as black & white streaks.
I have double checked these. Simple jpgs named folder.jpg. I still replaced them with new jpgs, but no luck.
There is no embedded art (I tried to use the AA extractor, and it found nothing). Should I still delete all the files, or is this problem something else?
Again, thanks for the help.
