Optimum playback settings - one for the programmers?

Hi guy's, I expect this may have been asked before but I can't seem to find my specific question, sorry if it has.
I have an iPod 5.5 80GB which I i-modded so that I have direct outputs from the DAC pins LOUT2 & ROUT2.

I send this analogue stream direct to my amp so that I don't alter/mix the sound in any way. Volume is adjusted at the amp.

What I'm wondering is if the Rockbox default settings are optimal for this application?

Also, should I be using LOUT2 & ROUT2? or should I use another output?

[Saint]:
If you're just using LOUT or ROUT singularly...won't you have monaural output?

Sounds to me like you want to be using both of them, not either or...unless they are really stupidly/confusingly named.

I'm using both LOUT2 & ROUT2 of the DAC pins with AGND for the Stereo signal. ;)
The signal is (I believe) unmixed or affected by the digital volume circuits. No DSP as far as I can tell.
The thing is that there are also 'other' outputs and how the programming affects their outputs.
See the schematic and pinout to see what I mean.

Buschel:
LOUT2 and ROUT2 are affected if you lower the headphone volume below -56 dB. Beyond this the lineout level is lowered in parallel to the headphones. At -56 dB or above the lineout is not impacted.
The rockbox default settings do not enable any bass/treble/sound management on either the Woflson codec or on the CPU side.

Now that's exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks for the insight Buschel.
I had no idea that they influenced each other like that.

Cheers
