Clip+ will not turn on after rockbox crash
(1/1)
Zamp:
My rockbox'd clip+ crashed while listening to music one day and now it won't turn on at all. I have tried holding down the power button, pressing both the power and home buttons, holding down rewind while holding down the power button, and forcing it into MSC mode by holding down the center button while connecting it to a PC (This just showed an unformatable removable disc). So what should I try to get my clip+ to work again?
newClipUser:
Happens to me a few times. Just try to reformat the clip+. If it is reformated, accessible as usb drive, but the sansa firmware still not working then use the rockbox utility to install rockbox (and by using the clip+ sansa firmware, the sansa firmware will also be installed/updated). This should work.
Keep us up to date!
Zamp:
The only way to get the computer to recognize anything is through force MSC. Even then, the removable storage that is detected is unable to be formated nor does Rockbox or the Sansa Updater detect it.
newClipUser:
plug it to the pc and give it some time. I had to wait about 3 minutes or more until the clip+ is recognised by my pc and some more minutes passing until the dialog telling me that the device needs to be formated appeared.
And even if the formatting dialog appears and I chose to format the clip+, it doesn't allways work :(. Just unplug it and repeat the process, you will eventually make it work. Just be patient.
I wish I knew a better way...
