iPod 5.5G issue with Fiio E1 amp

I have a Fiio E1 amplifier that I use with my 5.5 generation iPod. All of the functions work when operating the iPod with Apple's OS. With Rockbox, the E1 next/previous track and play/pause buttons quit working. The volume controls still work. Is there a way to get all of the functions to work with Rockbox?
