Ipod Classic 120gb 6th gen support?

(1/1)

roof_top_eagle:
I'm sure this has come up before but I was wondering if there are any plans to add support for the 6th generation 120gb classic ipod?

I had an old 5th gen one that I unfortunately lost so I bought a used one from a buddy but I cannot put rockbox on it since it's a 6th gen.

I really loved using my older iPod with Rockbox once the predetermined crash date was hit and apple told me I'd have to "get a new one" and I'd actually rather scrap the proprietary apple firmware just because IMHO they are morons for building iPods with more or less a ticking death clock that fries the thing after so long.

Thanks, I hope I can use rockbox with my new iPod soon :)

A chart with all working hardware is available here:

If you would like to help out by testing a build on your iPod and seeing what works and what doesn't, feel free to hop onto our IRC channel (see the link to the left) and lending a hand. But be serious about it... no "Oh, this would be great if such and such..." talk at all.

I went on there and asked, but didn't want to spam.

Is there anywhere we can get the alpha/beta builds, so we can test them out?

saratoga:
Yes, we provide builds.  Follow the install directions:
