Quick Screen Disabled
« on: January 14, 2011, 03:28:53 PM »
I got my new Sansa E250 v2 and loaded Rockbox on it.  It's working great!  I am having one problem, though.  I can't change the Quick Screen.  Every menu choice I hold the select button down on - for example, View Current Playlist - does nothing.  Is this by design?  I know that the E200V2 software only recently became stable.

The quickscreen can only contain settings, and only settings with a finite set of possible values. View Current Playlist is not a setting.

Got it.  I see.  Not quite as useful as it could be, but that's ok.  Just a slight irritation, nothing that would make me give up my rockbox.  Thanks.

We realise the quickscreen is limited in its current form; there are some proposals to improve it but nothing has been implemented yet as there's no consensus on what a good design would be. So, hopefully in the future this will be more useful to you, but don't hold your breath ;)
