Is the firmware file a bin file? I'm looking at the contents of my Clip+ and I see this .bin file named DID. Is that the firmware file? If so, all I do is replace it with the original firmware file I downloaded? Does it have to be the same name?

Sorry for all the questions; I like to be assured what I'm doing is correct

It is a bin file, and no thats not your firmware file.  I think sandisk provides detailed instructions if you really want them, but the process is basically just you unzipping the firmware bin file you downloaded from Sandisk onto the root of your mp3 player.

Yeah I got the original firmware file from Sandisk's site. Thanks for the info

OK, I have the same issue.  I've followed instructions and can't get my original FW back up.  I deleted the .rockbox folder from my clip and copied the original fw (m300a.bin) to the root dir.  When I try to reset my Clip, by holding the left on button, the screen flashes the Rockbox logo, then tells me it can't find the file, the sits on "Please connect USB cable".

What am I missing?
