Sansa Fuze V2 Rockboxed - MicroSD not detected

<< < (2/2)

Irken:
I've got a Fuze V2 8gb with a class 4 SanDisk 16gb Micro SDHC card. I just installed the most recent build, but my player still won't recognize the card. It recognizes the card when booted into the original Sandisk firmware, so I know it's not a problem with the card. I'm at wit's end. I'd like to try installing Max Sin's patch from http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11870 but I don't know enough about programming to compile a build and then patch it. If someone could prepare a patched build for me to try that'd be much appreciated, and I'd report back with results. I think probably the problem lies in the fact that it's a class 4 card, but that's really just wild speculation.

Irken, setting up a Rockbox build environment is not complicated as it seems and you don't need to have any programming knowledge to set one up, apply the patch and build. If the patch is well done (that is, if it compiles without errors against the current build), you won't even need to look at the source code.
If you're using Windows, I recommend using Linux to build Rockbox. If you don't have access to a Linux computer, burn a Live CD of a well supported distro like Ubuntu, or even create a LiveUSB of it.
All the documentation you need to set up a build environment and apply patches is available on the Rockbox Wiki. About the Linux LiveCD part, all the documentation is available on the 'net too.

I know this might seem too much work for just applying a patch and it might be easier to get someone compiling a build for you, but hey, every time Rockbox is updated you would need to ask that person to compile another build for you, and that's a hassle for both people - unless you pretend to use the same outdated Rockbox version forever...
