Rockbox as a application with GUI for Mac/Win/Linux

I was just thinking if it would be possible to write a Rockbox-Player to playback music on a computer as a program rather than on a device.
I think developping some skins as a GUI would be fantastic, i would LOVE to use Rockbox to playback music on my Macbook... i would even pay for it!

Is this something to take into consideration?
