.mtg firmware update files

Mystery Keeper:
These files are used to upgrade firmware both in Vosonic and Digital Foci devices. Is anyone familiar with them? How to build one? How to reverse-engineer existing one? Need that for Vososnic VP8870 Rockbox port.
