If you can play them in something like mplayer they're not encrypted.  I have no idea how to check if they're atrac3.

I was not able to play one file with mplayer... it looks like the format is the correct one (ATRAC3+), though. This is the output of mplayer:

libavformat file format detected.

Llorean:
ATRAC3 and ATRAC3plus are two different formats.

Are all the non-playing files ATRAC3plus?

saratoga:
We don't support ATRAC3+ (nothing does except Sony software) so you will not be able to play those files.

batman52:
Hi all, thank you for you support... I have also checked the files here
http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/oma/
and the only one working both on rockbox and with the mplayer is
01-untitled(1).oma, which is an ATRAC3
02-untitled is ATRAC3+ and does not work, as well as
03-Exdous which is encrypted

So as a rule of thumb, I'd say if mplayer can decode it, rockbox should also...
thank you all anyway
