Ipod Video 5.5G 80Gb, Logic3 i-station TimeCube
(1/1)

Hi,
first of all, the prerequisites:
Player: Ipod Video 5.5G, 80gb (64Mb RAM)
Rockbox: current build r28935 (official)
Accessory: Logic3 i-Station TimeCube
I just bought a new ipod alarm clock since the connector on my old one (some cheap no name brand) broke. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I went for the Logic3 i-Station TimeCube. This device arrived today, but for some reason I can not get it to work properly with my ipod.
I put in my ipod on the top and set the alarm accordingly. When the alarm is going of, the TimeCube does not seem to be able to recognize my ipod (running rockbox) and reverts to the default buzzing noise. I tested with the official Apple firmware (version 1.3) and it works fine. Does the rockbox firmware talk "differently" to accessories connected to the docking port? Is there some trick I can make it work (maybe someone in here already had to deal with a same/similar problem?)?

Yes, we support only a fraction of the total protocols that Apple uses. See: FS#9951 - Ipod Accessory bug reports

ok, I just noticed that if I turn the cube on "manually", the ipod starts playing music and the TimeCube outputs it. It seems to be only related to the "alarmmode" not recognizing it correctly... Oh well, gotta send it back then.
Does anyone of you use a alarm clock that works properly with your Ipod? I like getting woken up with music...
