Are you getting an error?

You need to shutdown from inside rockbox. Then tap menu, then immediately release and HOLD menu until you either end up in rockbox, or it says loading original firmware.

It can take a little practice to get the timing right.

yea....on my 7th try i got it working...it is kinda hard to time right...and my themes still wont work!

You did copy the WPS files to the /.rockbox/wps folder, and the .cfg files to the /.rockbox/themes folder, right?

Yes i did, and how do i get a backdrop? Can some one post a sample theme for me to test? Thanks in advance

There are several built in themes to test.

As for a backdrop, create an image in the resolution of your screen (176*132 for Nano, 220*176 for 4G color, 320*240 for 5g if I recall) and put it in /.rockbox/backdrops
Then browse to it (You may have to set it to show all files, rather than just supported, which is in the menu under Display->File View if I recall), hold SELECT on it, and then choose to set it as your backdrop.

I noticed with backdrops, when I am selecting a filename, the inverse of the bar (which is the mode i have for the selection to be) is actually transparent.

Any way to make it white on black or some other filled font instead of transparent?

no, does it matter? I got it to work, i made a balck background, cant see text...oh well, im fixing it. Still tho, where can i find a really good theme that works with iPod 5G and will make Rockbox look completly different?

Harshboy: Yes, to work properly the background must be the size of the screen. As for "themes that make it look completely different", at the moment the only thing that can be changed are the backdrop, the while playing screen, and the font. At the moment, I don't believe there are many/any 5G themes. Why not create one?

Create a WPS. The instructions/information needed are in the above link. Pick a font for it. Then, save a config file, edit it to remove lines other than the one that picks the WPS, the one that picks the backdrop (if your theme is going to include a backdrop for menus) and the one that sets the font.

Put that .cfg in the themes folder, the wps in the wps folder, and that's that.

would it be hard to edit a nano theme for the 5G?

EDIT: I edited the Video Mario Theme and it looks cool now. As a backdrop i used Super Mario Clouds, and edited some bars. How can i go about changing the font type/size/color?
