Playlist from fuze v1 "imported" into folders

(1/1)

ogl:
Hello again.

I liked rockbox so much on my fuze v2 I decided to install it on my V1.  I gave the v2 to my son.  I did come against a problem that I could not find addressed in the manual.

Here is my  issue:  Rockbox took my playlists created in the OF and put them in individual folders (Nora Jones playlist, Classical playlist, Rock playlist ect) in the File Browser.  Because they are in in idividual folders, they do not show up in the Playlist Catalog.  I tried cutting and pasting the folders/directories into the "playlist" folder in the File Browser and that worked as far as being able to see them in the playlist catalog and the playlist folder; however, they will not play.  They only play if I play them from the  folders in the file browser.  I am confused as to why Rockbox did not recognize them as playlists and placed them in the Playlist folder.  The playlist were created by playlist creator as m3u playlists.

That sounds unlikely, Rockbox just looks at what files are on the flash memory, therefore it was the OF/playlist creator that stored the .m3u files per directory.

The reason that Rockbox won't play them if you put them in the playlists directory is that the .m3u files are referencing music files within the same directory as the .m3u file. After you moved the .m3u to the 'playlist' folder then the music files are not in the same folder and therefore cannot be played.
