Sansa fuze v1: No audio + constant noise
(1/1)
Rockin_Zombie:
hey,
I am new to this forum, ran into a unique problem, not sure where to post.
I have been using rockbox with fuze v1 for quite a few months now. Suddenly from yesterday, my player stopped playing any audio, even with the stock firmware. It may not be a rockbox problem, but I am not sure where else to ask for help. The only thing that changed is I went through an airport security check and the problem started right after:(. I have never had any issue with these checks before, but is there any possibility that the check fried my player? I formatted, did a fresh installation of everything, still no solution.
Strife89:
This has happened to my Fuze as well, minus the airport check. Seems that Fuzes that have aged enough eventually suffer a failure somewhere from the DAC to the headphone jack, but with only my knowledge it's impossible to say exactly what (or if this is even correct!).
LambdaCalculus:
This sounds similar to the hardware issues that Sansa e200s (V1 models; can't speak for V2 models) suffer from, where the headphone jack would separate from the board due to pressure from inserting and removing headphones continuously. You may want to see if you can open up your Fuze and see if this is happening to yours as well.
Perhaps a security agent mishandled the Fuze? That's what I'm guessing.

Thanks, I will try to open it up. Looks like I have to be out in the market again:(
