Chirping noise with Fade on Stop/Pause

I notice this on my Sansa Fuze v2.  When pausing Mp3 files there's a short burst of noise shortly after the sound fades out.  Then again when the paused track is started.

Disabling the Fade on Stop/Pause clears it up, and I prefer no fade anyway.

I notice this too, I suppose it's never been addressed - plus, compared to the iPod 5.5gen for example, the "fade" is hardly a fade at all, but instead really abrupt.  I do prefer having a nice down-slope effect on pausing (hard cuts make my ears hurt), but the way the Fuze handles it seems like it needs major work.  FWIW crossfade works fine.

I posted in the flyspray task for that bug that I couldn't reproduce it last summer, so as far as I know its fixed.
