SVN Connection Refused - Ubuntu Linux
« on: December 18, 2010, 12:37:41 AM »
I haven't updated the source of Rockbox for some time but when i try and use SVN to update the source i get a "connection refused" everytime.

I'm running Ubuntu Linux 10.4 64 Bit (no it's not a virtual image, i dual-boot my laptop between win 7 and ubuntu)

Last time i tried was about mid year 2010 and it connected fine. Was pretty happy with the patches I had applied at the time so i hadn't updated the source in a while. Why would i suddenly be unable to connect now?

I'm not that familiar with SVN and a google search hasn't helped me find the answer.

I did create a new directory for a whole new fresh dump but still got the same error.

I was hoping a ZIP of the source was still being posted on the site but i couldn't find it.

Are you sure that connection to svn is not filtered by firewall? Try to run
Code: [Select]
telnet svn.rockbox.org 3690
On success you should get
Code: [Select]
Trying 80.67.6.50...
Connected to svn.rockbox.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
( success ( 2 2 ( ) ( edit-pipeline svndiff1 absent-entries commit-revprops depth log-revprops partial-replay ) ) )

The source is archived only for releases.  It is available here: http://download.rockbox.org/release

Thank you guys. It looks like something happened when i upgraded Ubuntu to 10.4 from 9.10 (which was the version i was at when lasted i updated the source code).

I tried TortoiseSVN in Windows and that worked fine so it's something in Ubuntu. I tried adjusting settings in the firewall but i had no such luck. I've been having some issues with the wifi lately too so i just decided to do a clean install of 10.4.1

So far i was able to get the latest code and currently re-installing the compiler tools :)
