Is it possible to RESTORE the ORIGINAL firmware that came on a Fuze V.2?
« on: December 12, 2010, 10:26:16 PM »
I recently got a Fuze v2. It came with firmware 02.03.33P.

The Sandisk firmware website links to an older firmware v. 02.03.33A.

After using RBUtility to install RB, and subsequently uninstall, I am left with 02.03.33A on the player.

Before I installed RB I backed up all the files from the player to my C: drive. The only BIN file is DID.bin.

1) Is it possible to RESTORE the ORIGINAL 02.03.33P?

2) Does anyone know where I can download the newer V. 02.03.33P firmware?

Thank you!  :)

They're the same firmware with different region settings.  IIRC depending on the firmware file, you either change the region setting in the OF, or else rename the A to P on the firmware file.  Check the sandisk forums, they explain how it works.

It is a common shorthand for "if I recall correctly".

Thanks!

I've discovered that changing the region after a reset (in the Sansa software) will change the firmware suffix. Also some Volume (in Europe region) and FM settings will change. The USA setting adds slotRadio to the main menu. Nothing exciting.
