Rockbox Crashing? Or something....
« on: December 09, 2010, 07:56:15 PM »
Hey guys, I just pulled out my 5th gen iPod video, 30 gig and gave it a fresh install of rockbox, using the rockbox utility.

When I boot to rockbox, it says the database isn't ready, and press OK to initialize now. I do this, and it gets anywhere between 500 and 3000 found (I have about 3080 songs), and then the ipod powers off - as if I ran out of battery - even if I have it powered on. What could be wrong?

Yes, it definitely sounds like it's crashing.  Is the player working normally in the Apple firmware?  Can you successfully build the database with a subset of your files?

If you avoid using the database can you play music and use Rockbox normally?
