Directory Buffer Full (V2.3)
(1/1)
Hodr:
I am receiving the directory buffer full error while using rockbox v2.3 (the unit is flashed, but I have also done an f1 boot with newest software).
I have a V2 recorder with stock drive. The Directory buffer is set to 500 display files and like 10k playlist.
The number of files in the directories that do this are >100, but none more than 300.
LinusN:
That's a mystery. Are you sure that you don't have any hidden files in those dirs?
Hodr:
Absolutely sure.
And to make things even stranger, while many directories with as little as 100-200 files give the buffer error, other directories with more than 300 files work correctly.
Perhaps it has something to do with filename lengths?
I.E. in the directory with 350 files, they all are smaller than 20 characters in length, while in the 200 file directory they are closer to 60 characters a piece.
LinusN:
The filename lengths matter. The directory buffer size is based on an average file name length of 40 characters. Increase the "max files in dir" setting, and you'll be fine.
