MIDI Files Directory

coachn:
Forgive me for being unable to find information that might be more obvious to non-newbies.

I've just loaded 3.7.1 on my Sansa fuse V2 player and am learning things about rockbox options by reading the latesat manual and working through these posts.

I have yet to see anything that says where to place/load midi files on my device directory, as in, what directory and how to access them once placed.

Can someone enlighten this newbie?

Thanks

CoachN

Chronon:
Put them anywhere you like and access them with the (Rockbox) file browser.  You might need to set the "view files" setting to Supported or All to see them.

coachn:
Thanks!  I followed your directions.

I create a directory on the same level as the others.  It's a directory that is viewable at the same time as the standard selections so I can easily select it and see the midi files.  (support files is selected)

I tried to play some of the midi files and got:

error opening
/.rockbox/patchset/acpiano_.pat
(where the _ is a box type character)

Then displays the following screen:

plugin return error
#leak-file-handles

Can someone please tell me what the next step is to getting my rockbox to play midis?

Thanks again,

CoachN

FYI - I got a lead on the problem from the following post:

I hope it leads me somewhere good.

Maybe, just maybe, none of those 48 people that looked knew the answer...

Yup.  That's what surprised me!  I'm glad I'm in good company and that I'm not the only one baffled.   ;)
