PictureFlow request for feature/behavior
« on: December 07, 2010, 02:47:11 PM »
I love PictureFlow and think it's generally well done.  What I don't like about it is if you pick a song in PictureFlow and play it, the entire playlist gets wiped out and the Album from which the file you selected is added to the dynamic playlist.

What I'd prefer instead of this behavior is the following:

When selecting a song from PictureFlow, the song is added to the current playlist and played (but not stored in the playlist if it's a file-system playlist) without wiping out the whole playlist.

So, the difference is no wiping out the playlist, but adds the selected song to the playlist dynamically and plays it.

If this behavior is already possible, I can't figure out exactly how it's accomplished, so please describe the workflow if I'm missing something.

This behavior is already possible in PictureFlow. You can either add entire albums with a press of Long Select at the cover art, or select the album and press Long Select on individual tracks to add them into the playlist. The default behavior for this is to insert each track at the end of the playlist AFAIK, so you'll still have to go and edit the playlist to move songs around to the desired order.

I've noticed that this isn't documented in the manual, so that will be fixed.

Ah.  I knew about the long press for the Album (adding it to the list).  I didn't know about the long press on the track.  That would be wonderful if it was documented.  Thanks for the tip!

Hello LambdaCalculus379 and williamskg6,

On my Ipod Video with 3.7.1 none of your described methods work for adding tracks in pictureflow to the current playlist.

I tried to long press on select on the album and on individual tracks, but no context menu or so appeared nor any track was added to the current playlist. I also tried to enable the hotkey function in the wps to access pictureflow, but nothing.

In the manual there is nothing written about adding tracks from pictureflow to a playlist.

Is there something like a context menu in pictureflow like there is in file browser mode? If not, that would be something wonderful to have.

Thanks for enlightening me.

Greetings c_k.
