help needed

hope someone can help but no matter what i do my gigabeat f40 still comes up with error message cannot find system on hd i have been tearing my hair out for two days and same message appears  i have done the surgery bit reinstalled software  and very close to putting in bin please help a newbie

Which software did you reinstall?  Did anything noteworthy happen when this behavior started?

ive loaded and reloaded the software that came with the box gigaroom 2.2 so many times done the surgery bit unplugged hard drive etc and still get the same old message no system found on hard drive im that fed up with it that im willing to send it to anyone who can fix it and pay them sorry for sounding so depressed about it
