I love my Rockbox'd Fuze!
« on: December 06, 2010, 07:42:19 PM »
Hi, guys! I'm new to these forums, and I just wanted to drop by and share with you guys a little bit about my experience with Rockbox... among all the threads with problems and whatnot, hopefully my thread should come as a breath of fresh air. :)

I've been lurking these forums for quite a while, following closely the Rockbox status progress for Fuze v2s, mainly because I wanted a Fuze. Believe me when I tell you that I've read and re-read many, many threads, not only from this forum, but from many others pertaining Rockbox and Fuzes. Finally last friday, I decided to take the plunge and I gifted myself with a 8Gb Fuze v2 as a Xmas present, with the sole purpose of Rockboxing it.

Fast forward to today; Here I am, with my Rockbox'd Fuze, and I couldn't be any happier! The installation was a breeze--completely n00b-proof, I might add, and so far I haven't had any issues with it at all, it works great! Now all I'll need later on is some help tweaking my EQ settings for my newly purchased Sennheiser CX-300 'phones that go along with my Fuze and I can die a happy man!

So I want to thank you all Rockbox Devs for creating and improving such wonderful piece of software! :D

In return, I'll try to show my appreciation to this wonderful community in the form of themes and anything I can share with you guys. The more, the better.

Again, thanks a bunch! Keep up the great work!

BTW: I didn't know where to create this thread, so I figured it'd be fine to create it right here. Please remove/relocate if it's considered out of place.

Hello there & congrats on your newly Rock'd-Fuze ! lol
I own several Sana E-200's and really love what RB does for them.
So much so that I scored a refurb Fuze on woot recently & want to also RB it.
However...something seems a little strange to me. Checking the version under settings, I show  that it is 2.03.33A, so this is a V2 Fuze, correct?
However when I d/l the OF for V2 from Sansa & start up the RB utility to install RB, it gives me an error msg, telling me that the V2 OS I point it to per the prompt isn't compatible w/ V1 Fuze. So I d/l V1 OS & reran the utility again, this time everything seems to have installed correctly, RB,Fonts, Themes etc. However, when I boot up the Fuze it goes right into the OS & stays there.
I'm not a Noob at installing RB on Sansas but I admit I'm stumped.
Can you (or anyone) please suggest what I am doing wrong?

You probably told the installer you had a Fuze v1, when in fact you have a Fuze V2.  You'll need to reinstall, this time taking care to select the correct player type.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Thanks, of course you were right, I had it pointing to Fuze v.1, instead of the (correct) V2.

Cheers
