Modded for iPod Video -= Non-Touch rayboradio=-

Hey all,

I've only just found RockBox in the last three days and I am absolutely blown away by it FLAC on an iPod ......Awesome! I have no idea why I have not stumbled onto it sooner!

Anyway, I love the skinnable gui and in particular the skin rayboradio_OB by Humberto Santana (amazing work). I am not too sure of the etiquette regarding adapting other users themes but I thought I would post my 1st attempt at customizing an existing skin for a specific device.

I have an iPod Video and noticed that rayboradio_OB seemed to be geared towards touch devices such as the Cowon D2 (big buttons etc).  To cut a long story short I decided to:

1. Remove the touch and radio specific settings.
2. Reduce the control interface on the wbs screen
3. Increase the Album Art size on the wbs screen

After a lot of messing around I came up with the following.  Hopefully Humberto Santana will not object as this is really just a homage to his fine work.

Anyway, just though I’d post to say ‘Hi’ and get any feedback for my 1st attempt at playing around with a skin.

No problem at all with any modification, actually the way themes are licensed allows any modifications, and the only requirements (that I recall) are that if you publish your version, you have to license it under the same type of license, and you have the honor the attribution clause http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/

Not really  the theme was originally made for iPod video, I'm just trying to make it more friendly for D2 users now. The album art size was sort of a "standard" when resizing was not into svn, and therefore most of the original proportions.

I decided to:
1. Remove the touch and radio specific settings.

Those settings hardly (if at all) do affect the non touch devices. And, on the contrary, they make the theme useful for more than just one specific device. In my opinion, we should go exactly the other way i.e. we should make the themes as useful and user friendly as possible for all the devices that share the same screen size.

In fact, coincidentally, I'm finishing the new version, that will display some things differently according to the device (taking some modifications suggested here http://www.iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=38129). And also increases album art to 120x120, trying to keep the "old theme's feel" and original graphics as much as possible. I hope I will be able to upload it in a day or two.

Hey audio-i, thanks for taking the time to respond I really like your work!

Funny how it was originally designed for the iPod I did not realise. You are quite right about leaving the radio and touch settings intact, I guess I did not really see the big picture there! 

Looking forward to your new version with the additional features.  I resized the AA to 120 x 120 and looks awesome. I was thinking about changing the colour scheme as well, something to keep me occupied on these long cold nights... well apart from the missus.
