Hi!

Today arrived my new ipod.

When i connect to the pc for install rockbox, i have formatted it in FAT. But now i can't install rockbox on it.

The error is that the device isn't an ipod. Shall i put some file in the root?

Please let me know, thank you!!

Did you install the new hard disk yourself?  Does it work in the Apple firmware?

Andrea82:
A shop in the USA customize for me the ipod.
It had the apple firmware inside but i formatted it. Now i have 0 files in the ipod.

TexasRockbox:
If you have iTunes, try restoring the player through iTunes which will format the drive FAT32 and create the necessary partitions.  Don't sync any music -- just restore it.  Then try installing Rockbox.
