Blind Clip V2 (resurrect or hand off?)
« on: November 28, 2010, 12:29:32 PM »
The display on my beloved Clip V2 has gone bad, possibly due to the intrusion of perspiration. It happened while I was running. :(

I had the not so brilliant idea to try to upgrade OF and Rockbox to see if that helped. It did not. And unfortunately It left the device in the default USB mode and I have not been able to change it back to MSC blind. I have two alternatives:

1) Ask for the key sequence to change to MSC mode. (At present it plays the radio when I boot up the OF.)

2) Offer the player to any Rockbox developer who might benefit from it. (Even if the only benefit is to harvest parts or fix it for their own personal use.

It is a 4GB Clip, btw.

thanks,
hank

I'm not sure how often the options/layout in the original firmware changes, but it might be helpful if you can report the version of the original firmware that you're using.

Yes, good point. Even subtle differences could make a huge difference when working blind.

I just installed 2.01.32.

thanks,
