iPod with Rockbox as media drive for iPhone???
« on: November 25, 2010, 06:33:03 PM »
I was wondering if, instead of using up all my iPhone's space with videos for long journeys, I could view videos stored on my 80GB iPod classic on my iPhone?

I've heard each device acts like a client rather than a server, but I'm wondering if my iPod which is running RockBox could be told to act as a 'target disk' that my iPhone (also jailbroken if that would help....) could see/browse??

Rockbox doesn't run on the 80GB classic, though it does run on the 80GB video.

That said, its up to your iphone.  Rockbox does support USB on Video (so does the Apple firmware actually).  So if you figure out how to add proper USB support to your phone, you can mount it as a disk.
