Clip V2 Playback no longer works
« on: November 25, 2010, 04:09:45 PM »
I'm using Rockbox 3.7 on my Sansa Clip v2 and until today everything ran perfectly. The problem is that whenever I try to play anything, no sound is played and it immediately skips tracks until it runs through the entire folder(usually only displaying odd  # tracks). There is no sound when this happens at all.  The only change I've made from when everything played to now is adding 2 albums and deleting 1 mp3 using windows. I have USB mode set to MSC and used the Safe Eject in Windows before unplugging.
Is there some weird setting that would cause this? I've initialized the database and all that with no success. Argh.
edit: Everything plays properly when booting into the OF, nothing plays in RB.
   Thanks for any help!

Check the file system for errors then reinstall rockbox.

Also you didn't mention how you were playing files, but if you haven't try using the file browser.

I tried playing from the file browser as well as from the database.
Here's something weird, when I hooked it up to a Vista machine, the rockbox folder game me a 'the folder or contents is corrupted' error message when I selected it. I tried the same thing on my normal Windows 7 machine and got no such error. I also scanned the file system in Vista and found some errors, so I guess something got corrupted but Windows 7 just didn't see it.

Reinstalling Rockbox fixed everything, I was just hoping there was an alternate solution. Thanks for the help!
