Listening to multiple audio books and playlists
(1/1)
Phran1:
Hello, I listen to several audiobooks and several playlists at the same time. I would like to be able to pause/bookmark each of these an return to each in any order. Is this possible with Rock box? Or any mp3 player?
I have done this with a RIO CARBON for many years. For example, imagine I am listening to a Harry potter story, a roald dahl story, a rock playlist and a classical playlist interchangably.
All of these are composed of a number of mp3 tracks (in the case of harry potter there could be approaching a thousand). I might want to:
1) Listen to harry potter until track 500
2) Listen to roald dahl until track 30
3) Listen to rock for an hour
4) listen to classical music
5) Resume from harry potter track 500 until 600
6) resume from where I left off listening to rock
7) Resume from where I left off listening to roald dahl, classical music, roald dahl, rock, harry potter etc
With my rio this was achieved by saving and resuming bookmarks. Up to nine of them. You could have more than one book mark on the same book/playlist. It would remember if the playlist was shuffled. It seemed a very obvious thing to have but I have not come across another mp3 player that can do it.
I am aware that many players have bookmarks but these seem to assume that the book is one file.
Your thoughts and advice are appreciated.
Llorean:
Rockbox can store any number of bookmarks in any number of folders, as long as your player has the hard disk space for them.
When there are limitations they should be mentioned in the manual, so you can generally just check that.
Phran1:
That is good to know thanks. Do you know if the bookmark remembers the position with just the file or the whole playlist/album?
Yotto:
It remembers the file and the position within that file.
