Will new ipod Classic be supported?

Hello every bodyon the forums ;D!

I was wondering if the ipod classic http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/ipod_classic?mco=MTg5MTcwMzc would still be covered in the ipod video category and would in fact work with RockBox as they are basicly the same model as far as i know.

Any feedback on this would be great.

NO, at least not anytime soon. After the Video model, Apple started encrypting their firmware.

I probably will try andget my ipod video repaired then rather than investing in a new model.

Not the same hardware at all, but work is very active on the iPod 6G port as of late.  Progress is being made.
