.m4b support

(1/2) > >>

pizza4me:
I searched for this, but the most recent topic I found was from January.  Are there any updates allowing .m4b files to be longer than 2 hrs. (specifically for Sansa Fuze)?
RB does read the file as a music file but will stall and revert back when I play the track.

saratoga:
AFAIK no one has looked at the MP4 parser in ages.

pizza4me:
I assume other firmwares do read the longer files correctly.  I would think it wouldn't be that hard to fix (for those who know how), but I don't know why the problem exists to begin with.

Now that I think about it, I think the Sansa firmware supports mp4, and maybe m4b as well.  The Fuze model has a separate category for audiobooks too (which is new since the e200s).  I'll have to check that...

Lear:
It isn't that hard, no, but not trivial either (e.g., a "proper" fix involves some buffering changes). Mainly a matter of finding a developer with enough interest to actually do it.

pizza4me:
no go on the sansa firmware reading it.  Hopefully I can get the audiobook re-encoded or something.

Would it be easier for me to change the file to a better format or chop up the file into 2 hr. tracks?
...not sure I have the utility to do either of those though...
