Can't Remove Old Albums From Rockbox

hello
i recently removed all my music and video from my ipod or at least i think i did. I wanted to start from scratch and cause i was having problems with rockbox. the problem before was it kept updating the database after a few minutes after playing a album. anyway i removed rockbox completely and reinstalled it. i then added my music and video back on it using windows explorer and the third party program for ipods - floola. when i was done adding my stuff back i fired up the rockbox and noticed that there was old albums on there that i had previously. but i didn't add these particular albums when i put my music back on. these albums i don't want on there play fine so it's not like they're ghost files or something. however when i boot to the regular ipod menu and go thru my list of music i notice those albums i didn't want are not there now. but if i go back to rockbox they're still there. i tried updating my database and that didn't work. i was considering removing rockbox completely again and this time formatting my ipod to get rid of everything. see i don't mind if i have to resync all my stuff back onto my ipod cause i have a folder on my hard drive with everything i put on my ipod as a backup of sorts. but i know there must be a easier way to get rid of these unwanted albums from my database. is there a way to delete them in rockbox???
i have a ipod video 5th generation and i am using rockbox 3.7.
thanks in advance to anyone who can help solve my problem.

Apple's firmware won't show any tracks that aren't indexed in the iTunesDB.

Does this issue have anything to do with Rockbox finding copies of your music in the trash bin of your drive?

"Apple's firmware won't show any tracks that aren't indexed in the iTunesDB."
i haven't used itunes to manage my music in like years. didn't like that program. or do you mean the hidden folder on the ipod called iPod_Control/Music/ where they list F00 and so on? is that what you mean by the itunesdb? cause i have 49 of those folders with mp3z in them with different filenames.

i'm still learning rockbox's many features. and i'm not all that familiar with rockbox's trash bin. but i did check the recycle bin on my desktop after i plugged in my ipod to the usb drive. didnt see anything in there. always thought that was what the guide referred to.

It doesn't matter whether you use iTunes or not. Apple's firmware for the iPod will only list files that are indexed in a database called iTunesDB. These files must be stored in the "F00 and so on" subdirectories of /iPod_Control/Music/.
Soap is talking about a trash bin created by your PC's operating system. You can use the Disk Tidy plugin in Rockbox to remove files left over by your PC. It may be that files that you tried to delete were actually placed in a trash folder instead of actually being deleted.

gotcha. yeah i'm assuming those old albums i don't want are in the F00 and so on subdirectories but i can't tell since they're named differently like abbreviated. but what i don't get is that it doesn't show up in the regular ipod menus but shows up in rockbox's menus those albums. is there a easy way to find what directories the old albums are stored in or should i just go thru the mp3s in the f00 folders to find them and then delete those folders they're in? would that screw up things on my ipod tho?
ok i just disk tidy and it said it cleaned 0 files. i clicked on windows option in the disktidy menu before that for files to clean. keep in mind i used the disktidy that i had already on my copy of rockbox. i have the latest version of the bootloader and rockbox itself and i did the complete installation originally with all the extras. so i'm assuming that it's not a older version of disktidy that may be the cause.

Okay. It doesn't sound like the files are in any recycle or trash folder. You can find out the path for the currently playing song by entering the context menu from the WPS, then selecting "Show Track Info". You can also delete the track from the same context menu.

The screen that has arrows with options on four sides of the screen is called the Quick Screen. How to access it and its functionality is described in section 5.13 of the manual.
You want to enter the Context Menu from the While Playing Screen. The end of section 3.1 has information on how to enter the Context Menu. (Long
