PPM meter

For anyone who uses the VU meter plugin at playback:
Is there any interest in seeing a PPM meter in RockBox - either for recording, or just while playing?

Compared to VU, the meter movement has a faster attack and slower decay, which can make it easier on the eye when monitoring levels.
The major advantage (for a small-screen DAP) is that a stereo PPM can use 2 needles on one scale, usually in Mid/Side mode. This is a more efficient use of screen space, and can be easier on the eye if you are trying to monitor the sound levels.

Yes I would be interested in PPM meters in the recording screen, they are actually in the Rockbox
recording monitor screen, they could do with a bit of colour graduation as the signal gets hotter towards peaking, but they do function very well!

But once stuff is mangled by Optimod (radio compression) and down to 96k bandwidth, it makes one wonder sometimes why anyone bothers to record sweet anyway. 

The compressor/ limiter used in Spotify is quite interesting though, seems to level classical music pop, death metal et al so you are not always reaching for the VOLUME knob.. some people are not keen on it though.
