Rockbox on IPod using VW car adapter
« on: November 19, 2010, 04:55:18 AM »
Hello everybody,

I just installed Rockbox on my 60GB IPod (5th Generation) and I'm very impressed.

Even the original VW IPod adapter simulating a CD changer jukebox to the car radio accepts my flac files playing device, wow. Unfortunately I have to report 2 restrictions on this:

1. The 'skip track forward' and 'backward' buttons of the car radio are not working. (In contrast the 'fast forward' and 'rewind' buttons of the car radio remotely controling the IPod operate well. The same holds for the shuffle button.).

2. The IPod adapter normally maps the first 5 playlists on the IPod to 5 CDs of the simulated CD charger connected to the car radio. This is not working currently. The radio does not see any playlists. Only the 6th CD with all titles of the IPod is recognized.

Does anybody has similar experiences?

Regards,
 Martin

Do you mind either creating a wiki account and logging your experience to
http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodAccessories
OR PMing me with details for EVERY column?

Thanks.

EDIT:
There is already one VW report in there, but it is of questionable relevance (older and without the details to suggest proper testing.)
It would be awesome if your report allows me to remove another device from "known non-functional".
