iriver performance

hey there everyone, i been having performance issues with iriver h320, i got it on shuffle with eq on, and i got 1800 songs on there. When i want to go next track it takes up 10seconds or more to go next track. Is there a way to fix this? i couldn't use my iaudio x5 anymore because headphone jack is loose, i bought gigabeat f40, terrible quality.

Can I assume you're using lossless files?  Nope, you don't appear to be using lossless.  Does this pause when skipping to the next track happen every single time you skip forward?
