Will iTunes sync complete format iPhone 5G, or just iTunes library on iPod?

Hi.

Just installed Rockbox on my iPod video. Rockbox is great, thanks to all developers! I'm using it to jailbreak my PS3.

Before i could install Rockbox, i had to format it with Fat32. So all content was wiped. I installed Rockbox. And just reconnected it to a Mac. It says this iPod has been connected to another computer, and if i want to sync, it will erase (i guess that's the word, as i get a Dutch message) my iPod.

My question: will that action just wipe the iTunes library on the iPod, or completely format the iPod (and thus erase Rockbox)?

I did some serious searching, but was unable to find an answer. Thanks in advance!

It just erases the stuff synced with iTunes, not any normal files stored on it as a disk.

Thanks Torne! Sorry for my late reply, but am a little busy. Synced my iPod and Rockbox is still on there. Great! You might consider adding this to a FAQ?

Yes, you really do have to follow all steps during registration, not just some of them.  But since I know you're not a bot, I'm just going to enable your account.

Isn't your user name on the wiki RaoulTeeuwen?  We have a Real Names policy on the wiki.

EDIT:  Though I don't think your account ever got created, or am I blind.  Create the RaoulTeeuwen account and all should be fine.

Thanks Soap, got in. Added the info to the iPod-faq (http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodFAQ).

Found out formatting italic (_xxx_) and bold (*xxx*) does not work. I guess you already know? The formatting help in the lower part of the screen when you edit says you should be able to use _ and * to do that, but that doesn't work...

I just tested *bold* and _italic_ on said wiki page and it worked fine here.
