Same error message
« on: November 15, 2010, 05:28:19 PM »
Hello again,

I posted this message a while back, but it wasn't replied to:

http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=25858.0

I've just tried installing the latest (3.7) build to see if the issue might have been resolved, but no luck. I still get the 'No partition found. Insert USB cable and fix it' message when I switch on my 1st gen ipod nano. Here's the info that comes up on screen when I hit Play after rebooting:

"  Rockbox bootloader
   Version v4.0
   Ipod version 0x000C0005
   SST55LD019K-45-C-MWE
   Partition 1: 0x0B 7823649sec
   Loading Linux...
   Error!
   Can't load linux.bin:
   File not found  "

Don't know if that clarifies anything.

Thanks

How did you install it?

I've tried both the automatic installer and by following the manual install instructions.

thanks for the fast reply

Edit: The message "No .rockbox found. Installation incomplete' has come up after reboot twice now as well,  instead of the 'no partition found' message. When this message comes up, it launches into a stripped down (unthemed maybe?) interface. I haven't worked out how to consistently replicate the second error message.

2nd Edit: I found an older build (r24079) floating around the internet. Manually installed it, and it runs fine.  Personally, I'm happy using the older build, but can supply more info about the issue I was having if anyone wants it.
