RBUtil (under Linux) does not autodetect my fuzev2. Instead, I select "Sansa Fuze" from the list and browse to the mount point for my fuze's disk. (There is no "Sansa Fuze 2" or similar in the list, it's just "sansa fuze").

There is a Fuze V2 option, and you must select it.  Installing rockbox for a different player will not work.  You must install rockbox for your exact player or the install will fail.

No, it doesn't. Here is a screen shot (attachment).

Update: I had RockBox Utility QT. It does not have the Fuze V2 option. I downloaded the regular version of the utility, and it worked. It also was able to handle the new version of the original firmware.

Lesson? Don't use the QT version. Maybe it should be either fixed or removed from the download site.

Er, the current version you can download is still QT.  I suspect you just had an old version.

I'm curious which link you even got that version from?  Its quite old.  I've got a 6 month old copy saved here, and yours is apparently even more out of date.

Just got an update people. Apparently it seems to be a problem with recognizing the radio. I had wondered if that might be it, because the radio had stopped working about two days after the warrantee expired (wouldn't you know it?) He thought it would be done right now, but he'll have to take more time to find a workaround.

Rockbox Utility is based on Qt since over 3 years now. Several versions have been released, and Rockbox Utility automatically checks for new versions since over a year now. If you have a version that doesn't do that it's totally outdated. We never supported or recommended using outdated versions of Rockbox Utility (or installation instructions in general). If there is a wiki page pointing to a specific version of Rockbox Utility it should get changed.

Hello and good evening,

I'm following the Rockbox port state since it was unusable for Fuze V2.

Concratulations and my deep thank to all people that work that hard to make it come true.

Only one little whish is still open.

First, since the stable state, the port state site (for the Sansa AMS ) was deleted ( or moved and i can not find it anymore ) could anyone give me the link to it ?

And second,
I really don't like the orig Sansa firmware, i have to watch it everytime i want to transfere data to the fuze player. I updated the "fuzpa.bin" with the rockbox utility, but it seems that the USB support wasn't done yet. This brings me to my first issue. If anyone could give me the link to the port state, were i can read when the USB port is done, it would help me al lot.

And the last question (more general):

Is there a turorial for develop more Plugins to Rockbox ?

Im not that bad in programming little games, and it would be really cool if i could give a little game as my "thanks" to the great developer team.

Yeah, pile on... ;)

Sorry everyone. What happened is this. I downloaded the most recent file with the 'qt' in the file name, which was:
http://download.rockbox.org/rbutil/linux/rbutilqt-v1.2.5-64bit.tar.bz2

Apparently this was released in February (which isn't exactly ancient, BTW). The 2.5.6 and newer versions are named differently (e.g. "RockboxUtility-v1.2.6-64bit.tar.bz2") so I thought I had the newest GUI version. I didn't look closely enough, so I apologize.

All is working, and I'm really pleased. Thanks to all who developed it. Great work!

I'm glad to hear the problem is fixed.  Thank you for providing your player for testing.  :)

Well, I'm just glad there is a fix out there for those that have this player as their main music source. I personally have gotten an Android phone since then so I most likely will not be using it as my main player. I am still glad to be getting my baby back soon.
