I wouldn't, but it doesn't really matter, you're just going to point rbutil at it immediately after you download it so you could put it on a CD-R for it matters.

Super_Dork_42:
OK, now I have a problem. I installed everything and that seemed to have worked fine, but when I disconnected my player and tried to start up Rockbox, it got stuck on the splash screen. (Rockbox logo and "Ver. 3.7" is all that is on the screen) I can't figure out the problem.
EDIT : I looked around and this thread is the issue I am having. Help!

Super_Dork_42:
Michael Chicoine has my player, I'll post updates as they come in.

I have similar problems with my fuzev2.

RBUtil (under Linux) does not autodetect my fuzev2. Instead, I select "Sansa Fuze" from the list and browse to the mount point for my fuze's disk. (There is no "Sansa Fuze 2" or similar in the list, it's just "sansa fuze").

I next downloaded the file linked above (I got it from the RB wiki page for the AMS chip based players, but it's the same link as above).

I get the following error: "Original firmware unknown, please try an other version. Tested Clip versions are 2.01.16, 2.01.32".

I don't know why it says "...clip versions..." but could be a typo in the FBUtil code.

These versions are not available from Sansa formus. I would prefer not to resort to manual install. Any thoughts? Anyone else running into this?

GGGGGG:
Manually installing Rockbox is really not as hard as it looks. Give it a try! :)
