Can I save rockboy games without the menu?

<< < (2/2)

Llorean:
Ah. Well I guess saving doesn't need the menu, but keeping the save file between play sessions requires a clean quit from Rockboy.

I just meant to clarify that the game's save features will work in Rockboy and that the save state feature isn't the only way to save. Wasn't aware though that SRAM wasn't written until you quit.

torne:
Lots of GB games write to their SRAM very frequently, saving to disk on every change would be expensive. Emulators generally only write it out when it's been idle for a while at most, often only when you quit the emulator or start another rom. We wouldn't want to have to spin the disk up for it.

RebelPanda:
Do you know how I would start to remap the buttons, all I need is to change the menu button from hold to select. I'm not playing anything fast paced so its still easy for me to play without it.

/apps/plugins/rockboy

Search in there and you should be able to find the macros for your buttons, switch them, and then compile the source.

RebelPanda:
do you know which file I would find it in?
